Supper Club

The Carlton Club

Founded in 1832 in the aftermath of the victory of the reforming party, Its genesis was in meetings of a small number of Tory Members of Parliament at an address in Charles II Street, off St James's Square.

By 1832, it was obvious that the premises were too small for the purpose of effective party organisation.

By 1835 it was able to occupy new premises on Pall Mall designed for the Club by Sir Robert Smirke.

69 St James's Street only became the Clubhouse after the Pall Mall building was destroyed in an air-raid during the Second World War Many of the Club's most valuable possessions, including portraits of Conservative Prime Ministers and Cabinets since the 18th century, survived the destruction of the old Clubhouse and can still be seen today.

Today the Club continues to support the Party in many ways but the hub of the Party is now based in Millbank.

                 WNCA SUPPER CLUB

The Westminster North Conservative Association Supper Club gives individuals the chance to discuss politics and current affairs at a series of dinners with highly regarded guest speakers. For just £25 a year (£40 for a couple), Supper Club members receive a reduced rate to events, priority registration, and the chance to talk with some of the most interesting figures in Conservative politics and British public life.

While we encourage individuals to join the Supper Club, it is not required to attend events, but space is limited and Supper Club members receive priority when reserving tickets. All Supper Club dinners take place at The Carlton Club: 69 St James's Street unless indicated otherwise.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
